Soulmates - do they really exist ?

The most overated topic n still maybe the most misunderstood one too !! Nowadays can see virtually all the matrimonial sites promising to pair u up with ur so called soulmate...as if it is so easy :(. Well for the uninitiated, a soulmate is a person with whom u enjoy a compatibility not experienced in other relations. Popular literature suggests that there are 2 types of soulmates :

1. COMPANION Soulmates : can be ur good friends, ur family members, business partners ,etc

2. TWIN soulmates : is a person with whom u enjoy a rare compatibility of mind n spirit (dunno abt the physical compatibility)

Seen n read many quotes/stories on the topic under discussion and here is one which caught my attention.

Soulmate Emotional Theory:

Ultimately the consequence of this notion is the unfortunate reality that soulmates often possess the ability to inflict serious emotional injury unto their twin flame, greater than any other being could. This often results in the separation of idealized love, due to the severe emotional impact. Many soulmates are destined for an eternal search, not for lack of meeting, but rather lack of acceptance. The encounter is often analogous to the collision of matter and antimatter, a violent explosive reaction will occur, but if held through to completion only pure energy, and thus harmony, will result.

Someday I hope to pen down something original on this topic...cuz though the topic is widely overrated n grossly misunderstood....it strikes a chord deep within me.
